July 2018

Hello all,

This is some early notice for the July book, chosen by Giles.  The June book is still A Brief History Of Time

The book for July 2018 is...

The Universe Versus Alex Woods
 Gavin Extence

For more info on this book, check out Good Reads.  It's very slightly over 400 pages but looks like a fairly quick read I think (not that I've read it yet).

You can currently get it second hand on Biblio for around £3-4.  And in all the usual places you get your books.

Date: 12th July 2018
Time: 19:30

See you all there,

Non-fiction science (June 2018)

Hello All,

My choice of book for June is Stephen Hawking’s A Brief History of Time.  Not only was he a brilliant scientist, but he turned down a knighthood as he didn’t approve of the government who offered it to him.  Before people howl at the thought of a science (non-fiction for a change) book, as a non-science bod, I’m the sort of audience the book was written for and am hoping for an easy path to [quantum-physics] enlightenment.

It’s available from Greenwich, Lewisham and Southwark libraries, Amazon, Waterstones and any number of local, small bookshops.

See you in June,
