Via my favourite Greenwich blog (The Greenwich Phantom), I have learned that last May the excellent Book Group site bookgroup.info nominated us as Book Group of The Month!
For those that don't know how we started, 5 years ago, The Phantom was what really kicked us off.
I had contacted Phantom to say I wanted to start a book group, and could he/she let their readers know? The Phantom obliged, and I turned up to our first meeting point (Starbucks - this was only for 1 month as everyone decided a pub was a much better option!) with a copy of the first book, and waited at a small table.
I was quite convinced i would be left sitting alone and then go home. However, thanks to the Phantom, about 12 people turned up. And our group was started, and has been brilliant ever since.
